Phyllis J. (Van Valey) Fleckenstein

Phyllis J. Fleckenstein, nee Van Valey, age 97, passed away March 17, 2023.  Beloved wife of the late David R.; loving mother of Bonnie Lee (Art) Truschka; cherished grandmother of Michelle Lynn (Robert) Luth, Mandy Lynn Marrello and Wendy Lynn Truschka; proud great grandmother of David (Mel), Michael, Anthony and Zachary Luth, Nicole Marrello, Alexander “Alex” Paulsen and Alexandria “Alexa” Truschka and great great grandmother of Noah and Angelina Luth; devoted daughter of Daunt and Millicent Van Valey and daughter in law of Jess Fleckenstein and Ruth Ives; dearest sister of the late Warren “Sonny” (Joan) and the late Richard (Shirley) Van Valey and sister in law of Robert (the late Joan) Fleckenstein, Sally Read and the late Jack, Robert, Leon and Gloria Ives; fond aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Phyllis retired from United States Steel as a teletypist after 29 years of service and was a great lover cats.

A Celebration of Life event will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at the home of Phyllis Fleckenstein, 14743 Albany in Posen. Interment private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions directed to the family would be appreciated to assist with funeral expenses.
