Jan A. Michor

Jan A. Michor, son of the late Jake and the late Sophie Michor, died March 1, 2021.  He was 66.

Originally from West Harvey, Jan was a faithful member of St. Stanislaus parish from the time he first moved to Blue Island. He was present for Mass every weekend until disability prevented him from being there.  His faith was very important to him.

An avid fan of baseball and a guy who enjoyed fishing with friends, Jan was looking forward to returning home from rehab in time for the new baseball season.

He is survived by his sister, Phyllis Fiocca (Larry Hawkins), his brother, Leonard Fiocca, and a number of life-long friends, some of whom bonded at Modern Drop Forge, and all who helped him enjoy life, despite the disability he dealt with in later years.  The family is deeply grateful to his friends, Matt Holuj, John Peterson, Ricky Stolarek, and Ken Wodarski.

Jan was preceded in death by his parents; uncles and aunts from the Michor family, notably Mabel, wife of Edward, who often made it possible for Jan to come to Mass; and his friends, Peter Couture, Gary Mikrut, and Tom Paulaskas (all alumni of St. Stanislaus School).

Per Jan's request, service and interment are private.
