A professed Secular Franciscan, Dan was Ordained to the Permanent Diaconate in the Archdiocese of Chicago on April 17, 1997. He faithfully served the faith community of Saint Stanislaus, Bishop & Martyr as one of the first lay Lectors, as a Minister of Care, a leader of Polish Gorzkie Zale services and Lenten Stations of the Cross. After his ordination and later retirement, his service extended to marriage preparation, baptismal parent preparation, wake services, RCIA candidate needs, and countless other needs in the Church. Truly, his ordination as a deacon was extremely important to him and to his wife Barbara. Together they served as a team fulfilling any need for anyone.
Professionally, Dan was employed with several companies including Western Pacific, Continental Bank, Wyman-Gordon, Gluc's Ace Hardware, and finally Advocate South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest. He was also a volunteer fire fighter and paramedic with the Posen Fire Department and worked with the local Civic Defense agency.
