Cpl. Arthur Anthony Krygowski USMC, WWII, age 97, life-long resident of Posen. Cherished husband of the late Marianne (nee Wojtanowicz); beloved father of Paulette, Claudia (James) Geraci, Andrea (John) Kaminski, and Marc (Carol) Krygowski; loving grandfather of nine; great-grandfather of seven plus one on the way; great great grandfather of six plus one on the way; fond brother of Victor (Rita) and the late Joseph (Jean), Bernard (Jean), Frank (Stella), Michael (Jean), Mary, Angeline (Michael), Antoinette (Henry), Raymond (Sylvia) and Virginia (Edward); uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Arthur was a devout Catholic and proud parishioner of his childhood parish, Saint Stanislaus Bishop & Martyr, Posen, Illinois (now Saint Augustine Parish). He was a member of the parish choir, the athletic board and the Holy Name Society. Member American Legion Post 990, and Ambassador of the Blue Army. Following the war, Art spent his entire professional career with the Wyman Gordon Manufacturing Corporation based in Harvey, Illinois.
Resting at the Adduci-Zimny Funeral Home, 14522 S Western Ave, on Thursday, August 31st from 2-8 p.m. with a Vigil Service 6:00 p.m. Funeral Friday 9:15 a.m. from chapel to Saint Augustine Parish (formerly Saint Christopher) for a solemn Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City, Section 18, Block 21, Lot 21, Grave 2. In lieu of flowers, donations will be given to Arthur's private charities.
