Agnes Frances (Zimny) Wesse

Agnes Wesse (nee Zimny), 86, of Lawrenceville, GA, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 27, 2020.  She is survived by her first husband and friend Charles Wood of Snellville, GA and their children: Charlene (Norman) Cheng of Ontario, Canada; Cathleen (Leo) Velo of Suwanee, GA; Linda (Frank) Cash of Rockvale, TN; Charles (Mao) Wood of Palmer, MA;  stepson, Wayne Wesse; sister-in-law, Nancy Zimny; ten grandchildren – Tonya, Katherine, Andrew, Zachary, Jessica, Mikaela, Anthony, Savahnah, Mary, and Michael; and five great grandchildren – Marcus, Lucas, Nicholas, Oliver and Arlo.

She is preceded in death by her husband Albert Kenneth Wesse; father, Stanley Zimny; mother, Mary Zimny Guidera (nee Mikrut); stepfather, George Guidera; and brother Kenneth Zimny.

Agnes, originally from Posen, IL, graduated from Thornton Township High School in 1951.  She entered mortuary school and became a funeral director, assisting with the family business, Zimny Funeral Home at 14522 S. Western Avenue in Posen.  She also held careers as an Activities Director of a nursing home and as a realtor.  One of her most treasured talents was ballroom dancing and she enjoyed performing at various events.  Agnes will be remembered most for her beautiful smile, her loving heart and her words of encouragement to others.

A Memorial Visitation will be held Sunday, August 7th, 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at Adduci-Zimny Funeral Home, 14522 S. Western Ave., Posen where a Memorial Service will take place on Monday, August 8 th at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Cedar Park Cemetery where a graveside committal service will be held.
