Joseph E. Schmitz, 74, of Blue Island, passed away Sept. 22, 2019. Beloved husband of Sherry, nee Schimick; loving father of Robin (Sean) Connelly, Bill (Dena) Meadows, Marianne Izzo (Bill Spain, fiancé) and Darryl (Darla) Richmond; cherished grandfather of Brian, Samantha, Cody, Marissa, Nicholas, Kacey, Hailey, Shannon, Kyle and Austin.

A memorial celebration will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 26th at the Blue Island Eagles, 2427 Grove St., Blue Island.
