Janice Christina Cimaroli, née Zapala, passed away on April 21, 2026, in Oak Lawn, IL, after a brief illness. Born on August 26, 1954, in Chicago, IL, Janice lived a life marked by grace, style, and an enduring dedication to those she loved.
Janice’s early years revealed her glamorous and stylish nature, a quality she carried with her throughout her life. A graduate of Eisenhower High School and Don Roberts School of Hair Design, she channeled her creativity and passion into her career in Cut and Curl, proudly self-employed in a salon she established in her parents’ basement. Her flair for beauty extended beyond her work, weaving through every aspect of her life with elegance.
Family was at the center of Janice’s world. To many, she was not just a mother but a stand-in parent—a second mother cherished by numerous children beyond her own. She nurtured those around her with warmth and kindness, creating a home filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Janice’s beloved children, Lisa Ann Cimaroli, her eldest, and Katie Lynn Cimaroli, her youngest, carry forward her spirit and timeless lessons.
Her love for animals was profound. Growing up surrounded by many pets, Janice passed her affection for them onto her children, who also shared their home with a variety of cherished companions. This gentle and nurturing bond with animals echoed the caring nature she extended to people both near and far.
Janice’s hobbies brought color and joy to everyday life. She was an expert seamstress and crocheter, known affectionately for crafting the most imaginative and memorable Halloween costumes for her children. Her culinary skills were legendary—everyone who gathered around her table felt the special comfort of homemade meals prepared with love, making her home a place where people longed to be.
Her youthful spirit was also reflected in joyous evenings spent dancing, moments that captured the vitality and vibrancy of her character.
A visitation to honor Janice’s life will be held on April 26, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Adduci-Zimny Funeral Home, located at 14522 S Western Ave, Posen, IL 60469. Those who knew and loved Janice are invited to come together to celebrate the beautiful legacy she leaves behind.
She is survived by her husband Mark and children, Lisa Ann and Katie Lynn, as well as her siblings, the late Horst Zapala and Carl Wolfgang Zapala. Though Janice’s presence will be profoundly missed, her spirit endures in the hearts of all who were touched by her love, her warmth, and her radiant elegance.
Janice Christina Cimaroli’s journey on this earth has ended, but the memories she created and the love she gave will live on eternally. She was truly one of a kind, a woman whose life was a testament to beauty, compassion, and unfailing devotion. May she rest in peace.
