Con gran pesar, anunciamos el fallecimiento de Héctor Zúniga, quien falleció el 30 de septiembre de 2025 a la edad de 58 años. Nacido el 2 de enero de 1967 en México, Héctor abrazó la belleza de la vida y de su familia hasta su fallecimiento en Dixmoor, Illinois.

Héctor fue un dedicado instalador de paneles de yeso, trabajando junto a sus hermanos en la industria de la construcción a lo largo de su carrera. Abordaba su trabajo con un profundo orgullo, dejando un legado de destreza y determinación.

Más allá de sus logros profesionales, Héctor encontraba alegría y consuelo en su jardín, que le servía de santuario. Apreciaba el tiempo dedicado a cuidar sus plantas, especialmente sus vibrantes pimientos y tomates. La jardinería no era solo un pasatiempo para Héctor; era un reflejo de su amor por la vida y su deseo de cultivar la belleza a su alrededor.

La familia era la esencia de la existencia de Héctor. Atesoraba cada momento compartido con su esposa, Yolanda, y sus hijos, Alondra, Jacqueline y Rojelio. Como padre y abuelo devoto, atesoraba las risas y el amor compartido con sus nietos, creando recuerdos que resonarán por siempre en sus corazones.

Además de su esposa e hijos, a Héctor le sobreviven sus adorados nietos, Leah, Ángel y Aiden; su querido padre, Francisco Zúñiga; sus queridos hermanos, Francisco (Isela), Jorge (Teresa) e Ignacio Zúñiga; y su querida hermana, Juanita (Antonio) Hernández. Extrañarán su calidez, sabiduría y amor inquebrantable. A Héctor le precedió en la muerte su madre, Josefina Reyes, y su hermano, Eduardo Zúniga.El velorio se llevará a cabo el viernes 3 de octubre de 2025 de 15:00 a 20:00 h. En la Funeraria Adduci-Zimny, 14522 W. Western Ave., Posen, para que familiares y amigos se reúnan en su memoria. Las oraciones en la capilla se llevarán a cabo el sábado 4 de octubre de 2025 a las 9:00 a. m. en la funeraria, seguidas de una misa de entierro cristiano en la Parroquia de San Agustín (anteriormente Iglesia de San Cristóbal) a las 10:00 a. m. Su sepultura tendrá lugar inmediatamente después de la misa en el Cementerio del Santo Sepulcro en Alsip, Illinois.

Al reunirnos para honrar la vida de Héctor, celebramos a un alma noble que nos enseñó sobre la importancia de la familia, la alegría de los placeres sencillos y la belleza de la naturaleza. Aunque su tiempo con nosotros fue breve, su espíritu y el amor que compartió florecerán por siempre en los corazones de quienes deja atrás.

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Hector Zuniga, who departed this life on September 30, 2025 at the age of 58. Born on January 2, 1967, in Mexico, Hector embraced the beauty of life and family until his passing in Dixmoor, Illinois.

Hector was a dedicated drywaller, working alongside his brothers in the construction industry throughout his career. He approached his work with a strong sense of pride, leaving behind a legacy of craftsmanship and determination.

Beyond his professional achievements, Hector found joy and solace in his garden, which served as his sanctuary. He cherished the time spent nurturing his plants, especially his vibrant peppers and tomatoes. Gardening was not just a hobby for Hector; it was a reflection of his love for life and his desire to cultivate beauty around him.

Family was at the core of Hector's existence. He treasured every moment spent with his spouse, Yolanda, and their children, Alondra, Jacqueline, and Rojelio. As a devoted father and grandfather, he cherished the laughter and love shared with his grandchildren, creating memories that will forever resonate in their hearts.

In addition to his wife and children, Hector is survived by his adored grandchildren, Leah, Angel and Aiden; his loving father, Francisco Zuniga; his dear brothers, Francisco (Isela), Jorge (Teresa), and Ignacio Zuniga; and cherished sister, Juanita (Antonio) Hernandez. They will miss his warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love. Hector was preceded in death by his mother, Josefina Reyes and his brother, Eduardo Zuniga.  Visitation will be held Friday, October 3, 2025 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Adduci-Zimny Funeral Home, 14522 W. Western Ave., Posen allowing friends and family to gather in remembrance. Chapel prayers will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 9:00 AM at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Augustine Parish (formerly St. Christopher Church) at 10:00 AM. Hector will be laid to rest immediately following the Mass at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Alsip, Illinois.

As we gather to honor Hector's life, we celebrate a gentle soul who taught us about the importance of family, the joy of simple pleasures, and the beauty of nature. Though his time with us was brief, his spirit and the love he shared will forever bloom in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
