Bernadine Agnes "Grandma Kitty" Chiera, nee Wodarski, 86, longtime resident of Posen, passed away March 2, 2020.  Beloved wife of the late Peter; loving mother of Karen Chiera (Jeff James), Edward and the late Gregory Chiera; cherished grandmother of Robin Petchul (Ryan Boling) and Eva Angelilli (Christina Lazas); proud great grandmother of Claire, Alyssa and Dylan Boling; dearest sister of Chester (the late Joyce) Wlodarski and preceded in death by seven siblings: Lottie "Tillie" (the late Edward "Farmer") Janicki, Joseph (the late Mary) Wodarski, Edward Wodarski, Casimira "Casey" Wodarski, Albie (the late Peter) Maicach, Ann (the late Witold) Uza and Thaddeus "Ted" (the late Marian) Wlodarski.

Bernadine was affectionately known to everyone as "Grandma Kitty", primarily for her great love for cats.  From the time she was a young girl, Bernadine always had pet cats and took care of many neighborhood and feral cats throughout the years.  Bernadine loved gardening; and in addition to flowers, grew her own herbs and vegetables that she cooked with and shared.  After she retired from working as a phone operator and a clerk with the phone company, Bernadine traveled whenever the opportunity arose and delighted in the many worldly destinations she visited. She especially enjoyed time spent at the family cabin near the Wisconsin Dells where the rules of Rummikub were refined.  Bernadine was a longtime member of St. Stanislaus Bishop & Martyr Church and was comforted by praying the Rosary. She was proud of her Polish heritage and Bernadine's Kolacky recipe has been handed-down from generation to generation.

Visitation Friday, March 6th, 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Adduci-Zimny Funeral Home, 14522 S. Western Ave., Posen.  Friends and family will meet Saturday, March 7th for visitation from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Bishop & Martyr Catholic Church, 14414 McKinley Ave., Posen. Interment St. Benedict Cemetery.
