Alice M. Rippe, nee Hein, longtime resident of Blue Island and cherished member of the community, passed away on July 13, 2024, at the age of 100. Born in Chicago, IL, on August 14, 1923, Alice brought joy and warmth to all those around her. She dedicated her life to creating a loving home for her family, and her bright, beautiful smile and kind spirit touched the lives of many.
Alice found great joy in quilting and was a valued member of the quilting club at her church. Her passion for travel took her on many adventures, and she particularly enjoyed attending WW II army reunions with her beloved husband, where they celebrated the bravery and camaraderie of those who served.
A devoted member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Blue Island, Alice dedicated her time and energy to enriching the lives of others in her community. From actively participating in Vacation Bible School to engaging in church activities, she exemplified a life guided by faith, compassion, and selflessness.
Alice's love for her family knew no bounds, and she always supported them with unwavering love and care. Her legacy of love and compassion will forever live on in the hearts of her children and grandchildren.
Alice was the beloved wife of the late Frederick; loving mother of Linda (the late Romas) Arbataitis, Lee (Cindy) and the late Larry (Elena) Rippe; cherished grandmother of Julie (Joe) Helzer, Michael (Katie) Arbataitis, Jason (Sarah) Rippe, Suzanne (Tom) Murray and Jonathan Rippe and great grandmother of Samantha and Cash Helzer, Maggie and Romas Arbataitis, Isabella Rippe, Danny and Karina Murray, Alexander and Cooper Stone, Mikey Murray, Anthony Ward and Liliana and Addison Hare; devoted daughter of the late Julius and Matilda Hein; dearest sister of the late Gerhard (the late Louella) Hein, the late Lillian Hein and twin sister, the late Eleanor (the late Les) Wollenzien.
Visitation Tuesday, 12:00 Noon until time of Funeral Service at 2:00 PM at Adduci-Zimny Funeral Home, 14522 S. Western Ave., Posen. Interment First Lutheran Cemetery, Blue Island.
